Terms of Use
Last updated October 27, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Local Tender ("we", "us") for using the Local Tender app. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
1. Who can use Local Tender
- You must be 21 or older.
- Give accurate account information and keep your password private. You're responsible for what happens on your account.
- Bartender accounts are reviewed by our team before they appear to guests. We may decline or remove a bartender account at our discretion, for example if we can't confirm the person works in the area.
2. Community rules
Local Tender works because people trust what they see. We have zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. Don't post, upload or send anything that:
- harasses, bullies, threatens or targets anyone, including bartenders, guests and bar staff;
- is hateful or discriminatory based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or similar characteristics;
- is sexually explicit or shows nudity, or is violent or graphic;
- promotes illegal activity, underage drinking or drunk driving;
- impersonates someone, or posts someone else's photo or private information without permission;
- is false or misleading, such as fake shifts, fake reviews, or reviews of yourself, a friend you're helping, or a competitor;
- is spam or advertising unrelated to the bar you're posting about.
3. Reporting, blocking and enforcement
- You can report any review, shift post or bartender profile, and block anyone, from inside the app. Blocking hides their content from you.
- Our team reviews reports and aims to act on them within 24 hours, by removing the content and, where appropriate, removing the person who posted it.
- We may remove any content or suspend or close any account that breaks these terms, with or without notice.
4. Your content
- You own what you post (photos, shift posts, reviews, bar updates). You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, display and distribute it in the app and to promote the app, for as long as it's in the app.
- Only post photos you took or have permission to use. Don't post photos of other people without their consent.
- When you delete content or your account, we stop displaying it, except as described in our Privacy Policy.
5. Bar and shift information
- Shifts, specials, events, cover charges and bar details are posted by bartenders and our team. Schedules change, so information may be out of date or wrong. Check with the bar if it matters.
- Local Tender isn't affiliated with, endorsed by or responsible for any bar, restaurant or bartender listed, unless we say so.
- Bar labels (like keno or live music) may be updated by bartenders. If something's wrong, report it or email us.
6. Private bars
- Some venues are private and invite-only. Their address and details are shared only with people the owner approves or who join with an invite.
- If you're given access, keep the address and details private, and don't share invite codes with people the owner wouldn't welcome. Owners can remove members at any time.
7. Drink responsibly
Local Tender helps you find a bartender; it doesn't serve alcohol. Know your limits, follow the law, and never drink and drive. Plan a ride home.
8. The app itself
- The app is provided "as is" and "as available". We work to keep it running and accurate, but we don't promise it will always be available, error-free, or that information in it is complete or current.
- To the fullest extent the law allows, Local Tender isn't liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for anything that happens at a bar, venue or event you found through the app. Our total liability for any claim is limited to $50.
- Don't misuse the app: no scraping, reverse engineering, interfering with its operation, or accessing other people's accounts.
9. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time from inside the app (Account or Profile → Delete my account). We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. If changes are significant, we'll update the date above and let you know in the app. Continuing to use the app means you accept the updated terms.
11. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Disputes will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Massachusetts.
12. Apple
If you got the app from Apple's App Store, these terms are between you and Local Tender, not Apple. Apple isn't responsible for the app or its content, has no obligation to provide support for it, and is a third-party beneficiary of these terms with the right to enforce them against you.
