Privacy Policy
Last updated October 27, 2026
Local Tender ("we", "us") makes the Local Tender app, which shows which bartenders are working at which bars in Plymouth, Massachusetts. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it's used and shared, and the choices you have. Questions: support@localtender.app.
- We collect what you give us to run the app: your account, and what you post.
- Bartender profiles, shifts, photos and reviews are public in the app. Your email and password never are.
- No ads, no advertising trackers, and we don't sell or rent your information.
- You can delete your account and its data from inside the app at any time.
Information you give us
Everyone with an account
- Account details: your first and last name, email address and password. Passwords are stored only in encrypted (hashed) form by our sign-in provider; we can't see them.
- Follows and notification choices: which bartenders you follow, and when you want to be notified.
- Reviews: star ratings and comments you write about bartenders.
- Reports and blocks: content you report (with the reason and any details you add) and people you block.
- Private bar requests: requests to join an invite-only bar, including any note you add, and invite codes you use.
Bartenders also give us
- Profile: photo, gender (male or female, used for the guest filter), home bar, bio, specialties and weekly schedule.
- Shift posts: where and when you're working, plus anything you add: vibe note, specials, band, games, events, cover charge, parking notes and photos.
- Bar updates: labels you set for a bar (like live music or keno) and bars you suggest. These changes are logged with your name so our team can review them.
Information collected automatically
- Notification token: if you allow notifications, a token your phone provides so we can send them. It's tied to your account until you sign out or delete your account.
- Location (only if you allow it): when you use "Near me" or the map, your phone's location is used to show nearby bars and sort by distance. It's sent to our servers only to calculate distances for that request. It isn't saved to your account, and we don't keep a history of where you've been.
- Basic technical logs: our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as time of request and IP address) for security and troubleshooting.
The app doesn't use advertising identifiers, analytics trackers or third-party ad networks, and doesn't track you across other companies' apps or websites.
What other people can see
| Who | What's visible in the app |
|---|---|
| Bartenders | Name, photo, gender, bio, specialties, home bar, weekly schedule, shift posts and photos, follower count, rating and reviews. Visible to anyone using the app once our team verifies the bartender. |
| Reviewers | Your first name and photo (if you have one) next to your review. |
| Private bar owners | Your name and note when you ask to join their bar. |
| Our team (admins) | Account details needed to verify bartenders (including email), reports, and the bar-update log, to keep the app safe and accurate. |
Your email address and password are never shown to other users. Private bars' addresses are shown only to people the owner approves or who join with an invite.
How we use information
- To run the app: accounts, profiles, the tonight feed, bar listings, follows, reviews and private bars.
- To send notifications you've turned on, such as when a bartender you follow posts a shift.
- To send account emails, like sign-up confirmation codes and password reset codes.
- To keep the app safe: verifying bartenders, reviewing reports, removing content that breaks our Terms, and preventing abuse.
- To answer you when you contact support.
Who we share it with
We don't sell or rent personal information, and we don't share it for advertising. We use a few service providers to run the app, who process information on our behalf:
- Supabase: our database, sign-in and photo storage provider (servers in the United States).
- Expo, Apple and Google: to deliver push notifications to your phone.
- Our email delivery provider: to send sign-up and password reset emails.
- Apple Maps / Google Maps: to show maps and give directions on your phone.
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the safety of our users or the public.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account exists. When you delete your account, your profile, photos, follows, shifts, reviews, schedule and notification tokens are permanently deleted. Copies may remain in routine backups for a limited time before they're overwritten. Bars you suggested stay in the app's bar list, without your name. Reports you filed are kept, without your name, so our team has a record of safety decisions.
Your choices
- See and change your information: edit your name, photo and profile in the app at any time.
- Delete your account: in the app, go to Account (guests) or Profile (bartenders) and tap Delete my account. Or email us and we'll do it for you.
- Notifications: turn them off per bartender with the bell on the Following tab, or for the whole app in your phone's Settings.
- Location: the app works without it. You can turn location access off in your phone's Settings.
- Block people: blocking hides someone's content from you and stops them reviewing you.
Depending on where you live, you may have other rights, such as asking for a copy of your information. Email support@localtender.app and we'll respond within 30 days.
Age
Local Tender is about bars, and is only for people 21 and older. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 21. If you believe someone under 21 has an account, contact us and we'll delete it.
Security
Information is encrypted in transit, passwords are stored hashed, and access to each person's data is restricted by database rules so people can only change their own information. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect yours.
Changes to this policy
If we make meaningful changes, we'll update the date above and let you know in the app.
